It's a BOY!

I woke up this morning exhausted. I had a hard time sleeping because I was so excited for our ultrasound. We also got a phone call at 4:55am saying that there was no school for Medford because of the snow. So, once I was awake, I couldn't fall back asleep. I kept thinking about the baby, the ultrasound, the snow... hopefully it would be a problem for us to get to the ultrasound to see the baby!

We had a lot to do to get ready for the 9am appointment. We had to the get the boys up, dressed, fed and out the door by 8:15am. We also had to get up, dressed, eat breakfast and shovel (Toby) the snow so we could leave. It was busy.

We dropped the boys off at Mommom's house at 8:45 and headed to the appointment. We got there on time (the roads were fine, no need for a snow day). We waited excitedly in the waiting room. Toby read on his iphone while I interrupted him to talk every few minutes. So, when I say we waited excitedly, I really meant me! :-)

They called us back around 9:30 and it began. It was so amazing to see the little hands and feet of our baby. The spine was perfect and so was the heart and all of the other body parts. This ultrasound was special because it was so easy to see the baby. When we had the anatomy ultrasound for our boys there were legs and arms everywhere and it was hard to know what was going on.

The ultrasound lady explained everything she saw along the way. It was wonderful. Toby and I held hands and enjoyed every minute. At the end she said she was going to tell us the sex. She said she already knew it because she had seen something along the way, but wanted to show us too. At that moment we knew it was a boy. A few seconds later she showed us his "man" part. Yup, another boy. :-)

Now, if you remember I guessed a girl and said I am wrong 100% of the time. So, I can still say that. I truly can NOT guess the sex of a baby. Even my own. Even though I had a dream that it was a girl.

Because I was so sure it was a girl I was quite shocked at the news that it is a boy. I had told myself all along that I didn't care, but it stung a little bit. I am thrilled to have another boy, but I was looking forward to some pink in this house. I am the ONLY girl! Even the cats are boys.

So, now that I am over the shock and I am excited to meet this little perfect baby boy... let the planning begin! What kind of bedding should we get him??? I look forward to shopping for it.

Maternity clothes? Still all bottoms and most tops

Food cravings: Junk food! Pizza, burgers, chocolate, ice cream, ring dings, you name it and I would eat it.
Gender: my final guess it girl, we find out on Tuesday so we will finally know! I will say that I will be equally as happy if it is a boy or girl. I am just excited for another addition to the family. I will also remind everyone that I guess the gender incorrectly 100% of the time, so we are having a boy! :-)

The thought of moving...

We love our house on Branch Street, but we are outgrowing it. :-( Our original plan was to get pregnant in Feb/Mar or even later. Then I could go back to work in Sept, save up some money, and go on maternity leave. This would also give us time to sell and buy a house. WELL, we got pregnant in Oct. So.... that changed the plan. Now we are trying to find out way to sell/buy quickly (yeah right in this market) and do it on Toby's salary. Let's just say it is going to take a miracle. Luckily, my God is a God of miracles. I mean, that is what this baby is! :-) But it is still scary. If out house doesn't sell, we will find a way to make it work here. We do love our house and our neighbor, neighbors and location in Medford. We just wish we had more room for the boys to play, a garage, a basement, our own bathroom and more storage space!

Sometimes I get really excited about a new house. I think about having the things on our wish list and I smile. Then I picture packing up and moving this house with 2 toddlers and being pregnant. Then I want to shake my head and cry. I am sure we will have help, but man it is going to be crazy! I picture me putting stuff in one box and moving to another and the boys emptying the box I just packed. I also think of all the stuff we have and I want to throw it all away! Moving is going to be nuts.

I realize that this isn't really pregnancy related, but being pregnant is going to make me more emotional about leaving our house and it is going to make packing quite challenging. SO, it is sort of relevant. :-)

17 Weeks

How far along? 17 weeks
Weight gain/loss: 8-10 lbs
Maternity clothes? Yes to all bottoms and most tops. My regular sweaters still fit. My regular shirt "fit" but don't cover my belly.
Stretch marks? no
Sleep? I am sleeping much better. If the kids sleep through the night, I am able to as well. I only have to get up one time to go to the bathroom and I can go right back to sleep. I am waking up feeling rested.
Best moment this week? Feeling better! Not needing a nap everyday. I think I am finally past all the early tired stages and being tired because of a cold. Yay!
Food cravings: Orange juice, water, chocolate, chinese (we did an all you can eat buffet and it was wonderful)
Gender: Still thinking girl
Belly button in or out? In
Movement? Some, mostly at night.
What I miss? Sleeping on my stomach. I still do it, but I can't last all night and it isn't as comfortable.
What I'm looking forward to: Finding out the sex of the baby in a few weeks, selling our house
Weekly wisdom: Smile, I have a great life and I need to remember it always.
Milestones: Feeling better, getting more sleep, Jacob is taking more steps by himself!!!
